Who should attend?

MEWP Training is an mandatory for those who work with mobile elevated work platforms. MEWP Training (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) is a 1 Day Course designed for new and experienced Mobile Elevated Work Platform operators, who wish to gain certification or update their previous skills and renew their certification. There is significant risks to operating the machinery including dealing with the public and working at a height as well as entrapment among others.

MEWP maintenance
Introduction to controls
Stabilities
Observation Skills
Safety Harness Training
Harness inspection, lanyard anchor points wearing of harness.
Use of P.P.E.
Working at height
Awareness of electricity in work areas.
Falls
Changing stabilities at height.
Daily pre-use checks and maintenance
Re-fuelling and battery charging procedures
Emergency procedures
Practical Test / Theory Test.

On completion of this course participants will:

Operate an MEWP safely in accordance with the manufacturer's handbook
Clearly understand and mitigate all risks while operating an MEWP
Carry out a pre-use inspection of an MEWP
Work at height safely on an MEWP
Understand the procedures for lowering the MEWP in an emergency
